The Dirty Knobs with Special Guests Jon Kay of Steppenwolf
On Friday, January 30th The Dirty Knobs performed a benefit with special guests for the ROCK THE DOGS organization. The benefit was held at one of our favorite clubs to play called SoHo locted in Santa Barbara, CA. It was a sold out show filled with celebraties both on and off stage.
Michael McDonald was spotted in the audience while David Crosby visited us in the dressing room before we started our set.
The night started with singer/frontman John Kay of the legendary rock group Steppenwolf. John's performance started as a solo acoustic set that eventually led to The Dirty Knobs joining him with powerful renditions of Steppenwolf classics The Pusher, Sookie Sookie, Magic Carpet Ride and closing the set with Born To Be Wild.
"Booooooorn To Beeeee Wiiiii-hi,hi, hiiiii, hild"
L to R, Mike Campbell, John Kay, Matt Laug, Jason Sinay, Ron Blair and Benmont Tench.
After closing out John's set we took a little break so that the tables could be moved out of the way. We returned to the stage to start what turned out to be a 2 hour set of fun Knobbin'! Here are the pictures to prove it!!!
